ABOUT DR. RUDIN

After graduating from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1987 with honors, Dr. Bruce Rudin was inducted into the National Medical Honor Society, Alpha Omega Alpha. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. In 1993, Dr. Rudin completed a one-year fellowship in adult spinal surgery at the internationally renowned New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. As the first fellowship-trained spinal surgeon in the state of Delaware, Dr. Rudin has helped develop spinal surgery and spinal surgical techniques, both regionally and nationally.

Dr. Bruce Rudin has over 20 years of experience in managing adults with degenerative or injured spines. With a focus on alternatives to surgery if possible, he has all options for conservative care available within his practice. For those patients who require surgery, he makes every effort to do so in the least invasive manner utilizing the newest cutting-edge techniques and technology. His focus is always on returning a patient to the best quality of life possible, allowing for their return to work and activities important to the patient. His particular expertise is in the care of injured workers. His program interfaces with the patient, insurance companies, and attorneys, allowing the patient to focus on their own recovery with the least distractions.

He is a nationally-recognized speaker, helping to educate spinal surgeons on the current surgical and non-surgical management techniques for cervical and lumbar spinal conditions. Dr. Rudin also designs and develops implants that will be used in the future for spinal surgery. Based on the quality care provided and the excellent outcomes obtained, Dr. Rudin has served as a clinical investigator for the largest spinal implant companies in the world and for the Food and Drug Administration in developing and assessing the safety of new spinal implants.

Dr. Rudin has been either Chairman or Co-chairman of the Health Care Advisory Panel (appointed by the governor) for the last 5 years and was the lead doctor participating in writing the current law in Delaware for Workers Compensation as well as the Treatment Guidelines for the care of the injured spine.

He has also been named one of Delaware’s Top Doc’s more than 10 times, including 2019 Top Doctor in Orthopedics of the Spine!
