Our team will always use the most minimally invasive surgery as possible for procedures such as Lumbar Discectomy, Lumbar Spinal Fusions, Lumbar Total Disc Replacements, Cervical Discectomy, Cervical Fusion, Cervical Disc Replacement, and Interlaminar Lumbar Instrumented Fusion.

Cervical Disc Replacement

One of the newest, unique surgical tools is now available for cervical disc replacements at First State Spine. Delaware’s Top Doc for Spine Surgery, Dr. James Zavslasky has completed thorough training in the use of this new device in cervical disc replacement. This device is the first and only cervical disc replacement in the U.S. approved to treat more than one level of the cervical spine with fewer complications, fewer operations, and quicker recovery times.

Features

  • The unhealthy disc is removed, but instead of a bone spacer or plastic implant along with a plate and screws, this state-of-the-art device is implanted into the disc space.
  • This new technology is designed to allow the disc to self-adjust and move with the spine, which is intended to facilitate motion similar to the natural cervical spine.
  • Minimally invasive with no intrusive keels or screws required; eliminating operative steps and preserving the vertebrae for a stable surface ideal for one or two-level implantation.
