Our Team Qualifications

  • Our team has over 53 years of combined experience treating the Spine.
  • We are ultra-specialists and deal only with spinal problems; we do not treat any other part of the body.
  • Let us help navigate you through the Workers’ Compensation guidelines.
  • Personal Care – Our team is available to you; we feel that getting in touch with your doctor is important. Your phone calls will always be returned the day that you call. We live locally and are easy to reach. In an emergency, you will be immediately put in direct contact with a member of our team.
  • Many are fearful when it comes to the idea of spinal surgery; therefore, we are always available to spend as much time as needed to go over your condition, alternatives to surgery and if necessary recommend a procedure along with its associated risks.
  • “Less is More” – Our team will always use the most micro or minimal access surgery when possible.
  • Your safety is our number one priority. We will be there every minute of your surgery to make sure you are well cared for.
  • We do 100% of the operations ourselves. Our team does not have medical students, residents, or interns.
  • Our team believes in caring for you after the surgery. When you come back to the office for post-operative care, we are the only people you will see. Even something as simple as removing staples or stitches is something we will do ourselves.
  • Non-surgical treatments are always encouraged first. Let us provide you with an honest opinion whether or not you should have surgery. At First State Spine, we have pioneered many techniques that enable the vast majority of our patients to achieve excellent results without surgery.
  • Staying on the cutting edge of technology; Dr. Rudin has helped develop spine surgical techniques regionally and nationally. Currently, he is focusing on minimally invasive approaches and disc replacement.
  • Your comfort is a priority and we believe pain should always be minimized at the time of surgery. We work with you before surgery to develop a program for you post-operative care which will help minimize pain after surgery.
  • “Spine Safe Operating Room” – working in a state of the art operating room, we ensure that every technological advancement is available to protect your spinal cord and nerves. When needed, as a safety precaution, our cases are scheduled with spinal cord monitoring. This monitoring consists of an elector physiologic computer which is operated by a technician who remains present throughout your entire surgery, monitoring the real-time function of your spinal cord and nerves.
